Ida Mae Bloom, age 89 daughter of Daniel and Estelle Griffin Lane who was born, September 13, 1926, in Chiefland, Florida, passed away April 15, 2016 peaceably at the N.E. Florida Community Hospice the Warner Center in Fernandina Beach, Florida. Ida loved her family, friends, her church, growing lilies and feeding her humming birds. She was always willing to help others in their time of need with loving kindness, incredible intellect, sense of humor and sweet smile. Ida worked as a medical secretary for many years, loved her work and was known as “Dr. Ida” among her friends and neighbors. Ida and her late husband, Clark were charter members and lifelong supporters of Glynlea Grace United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, her brothers: Earnest and Cecil Lane and her sister Mertie Mills. Ida is survived by son Bud Bloom, daughter Camille Smith, her grandsons Ty and Scotty Smith, her sister Shirley Lane and two brothers, Marvin and Francis Lane, son-in-law Phil Smith and daughter-in-law Angela Bloom. The family will be holding memorial services in both Jacksonville and Atlanta on dates that have yet to be determined.
