Frederick “Fritz” Kaiser, age 88, of The Villages, Florida and formerly of the Albion/ Battle Creek area died unexpectedly Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from injuries he received in a golf cart and truck accident.
Fritz was born on December 23, 1929 in Albion to George and Myrtle (LaMont) Kaiser. He spent his youth living on the family farm in Parma Township and attended the old Wright Country School. Fritz was a graduate of Albion Washington Gardner High School, the class of 1947. Following his graduation, he entered the United States Army as a Lieutenant serving during the Korean War.
On October 23, 1954, he married the former Beulah “Bea” Bearman in Albion. She preceded him in death in 2006.
While living in the Battle Creek area he had been employed as a manager and repairman for the Allman’s Television Store. He later took the Managers position with Warren Radio Company working in Ferndale, Michigan and then in Madison Heights, Michigan. He retired in 1991. Fritz moved to The Villages in November of 2011 to be near his son, David.
Fritz was an avid sports enthusiast. While in high school, he played football and baseball. He loved playing golf, cards and bowling and made many life long friends. He was a life long Detroit sports fan and continued following the Tigers, Lions and Red Wings while living in Florida. Fritz had a great sense of humor. He loved a good joke and would often respond with full belly laugh.
He is survived by his son, F. David Kaiser of The Villages; a grandson, Derek Kaiser of Leonard, Michigan; and three great grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth Kaiser, David Kaiser and Donald Kaiser. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Kaiser.
A memorial service to celebrate the gift of his life will be held in Michigan at a later date. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
