Charles “Richard” Hunter, Jr., 60 of Middleburg, FL passed away Monday, October 26, 2020. Richard was born in Georgia and moved to Jacksonville at a young age. He grew up in Jacksonville and had been a resident of Middleburg since 1973. He was a truck driver for over 30 years both as a self employed driver and for various trucking companies over the years.
Mr. Hunter was man with a “heart of gold” but also had a bit of a stubborn streak. Richard was a wonderful husband and father who provided for his family and was an example of hard work. He enjoyed traveling with his family and spending time being “Papa” to his eight grandchildren, Dylan, Emily, Brooke, Anna Claire, Chandler, Juliana, Eliza and Isabella.
Mr. Hunter was preceded in death by his father, Charles Richard Hunter, Sr. and sister, Carol Hunter and is survived by his wife of 44 years, Laurie Hunter, children, Andy (Rhonda) Hunter, Billy (Alicia) Hunter and Leslie (Nate) Bess, mother, Betty Hunter, brothers, Steve (Hope) Hunter, Sr. and Mike (Kerry) Hunter and many extended family members.
A Celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church of Middleburg, time to be announced.
